Gopher Track Shots
PHOTOS OF UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA TRACK, FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY
This is a home for amateur photos of Gopher track, field and cross country athletes, fans, family, coaches, staff and others. The old home: www.gophertrackshots.com is still there. But it is an older platform and doesn't handle the needs of social media, etc. Thus, it will stay up and running and holds all of the shots from 2005 through the summer of 2013, but it will not be revised.
This is the location for the 2013 Cross country season and all subsequent cross country and track and field activity.
REDSHIRTS
Every year a bunch of new athletes join the team. Those who are in uniform are easy to find, but those of you who are red shirting your first season are NOT easy to find. If you want photos, come and introduce yourself or wear something that identifies you with the team without breaking any NCAA rules. One year the women all wore RED SHIRTS!!! That was great.
Also, please realize that shooting indoors is a challenge. I have to rely on auto focus and that works best when it can find high contrast. So, if you want good photos, do not wear plain gray T-shirts. You will be blurry. Black and white or other high contrast works best.

REQUESTING COPIES
If you want a high resolution copy of a picture you see posted, send an e-mail to [email protected] identifying the photo and I will get it back to you. To identify the photo, just copy the photo and paste the copy into an e-mail. Besides a copy of the photo, the most important thing is to provide the date of the meet - month day and year. That is how the pictures are saved.
And to make it clear, there is NO charge for these photos to the athletes or their family. The only request is that you do not sell them unless it is fundraising for the UofMN or for the athlete's future as a professional! I reserve the right to charge for any photos provided to media outlets, consistent with NCAA rules.
